Cellular units tend to work well in isolated rural accounts where Wi-Fi is unavailable, while low-power wide-area networks can cover large campuses more economically once a gateway is installed. Whatever the technology, ask how the system behaves when a signal is temporarily lost, since a trap that silently drops off the network is not meaningfully better than a paper log.

Integration and Piloting Before You Scale

Integration with your existing route management or reporting software is often the deciding factor. A sensor platform that cannot export data into the system your office already uses creates duplicate work rather than saving time.
